The focus at LeadX Nepal is knowledge and impact investment. Therefore, the emphasis on the ecosystem. Impact investment is evident in and not limited to business incubated at Idea Studio Nepal, through job creation, policy change, foreign direct investment creating a bridge between Japan and Nepal by putting Nepal on the map and radar of the investment, creating a platform for leaders to understand their leadership and lead innovatively and to nurture aspiring leaders through leadership journeys and leadership workshops on women leadership. The broader vision to also establish Nepal as the South Asian research hub.

LeadX Nepal is a dynamic leadership innovation hub, built on the pillars of the knowledge, impact and investment. Our ecosystem includes Idea Studio Nepal, Connect Job, Child Reach Nepal, Student into Community, Idea Impact Investment Fund, Idea Studio Founders’ Club, LeadX Talk, LeadX Journeys, and Industry partners. LeadX Nepal is unique in ways it offers permeability across all these entities in its ecosystem. We want to help break rigidity and support entrepreneurs and youth achieve their dreams.

To unite in this grand vision of LeadX Nepal and thrive in this ecosystem, we emphasize finding common ground rather than focusing on differences. Our core ethics or mantra – Unlock, Unblock and Validate – guide our approach to empowering individuals. Besides, LeadX Nepal also serves as a channel for academic and industry networking, providing access to finance and support mechanisms for entrepreneurs.

B.Investing in Future Leaders

Talent Creation – Connect Job
The first thing to understand is Connect Job is not a consultancy or a manpower company. Managed by LeadX Nepal, Connect Job with the motive to create talent’, plays a pivotal role in empowering Nepali youth to thrive in the global market job place. Around 4,50,000 youths enter the job market every year and not many get the jobs they deserve, creating unemployment. Connect Job provides a global platform for youths to explore their career in leading companies of the world. The recruitment procedure is straightforward: if you deserve the job, you get it.

Connect Job facilitates deserving talents to pursue their career in Japan. There are not any hidden cost or fees involved. Fourth valley Concierge Corporation, Tokyo, Japan started FV Japan Centre Nepal (now Connect Job) at Mid Valley College Building, Gyaneswor, Kathmandu in July 2018. Fourth Valley Concierge supports employment, internships, and study abroad for exceptional young people all over the world. Connect Job, a brand of Fourth Valley Concierge, aims to provide talented Nepali youth with global opportunities and offers vocational training and job opportunities.

Connect Job Activities
Connect Job announces opportunities for Nepali youths to pursue their careers in Japan. It supports applicants throughout the process. It facilitates the direct recruitment of Nepali talents by Japanese companies. For those who do not qualify directly, Connect Job provides Japanese classes once the applications pass CV screening, online tests and interviews. The classes are taught by trained Japanese teachers. Connect Job supports fresh graduates and mid-career individuals to pursue career in Japan. It is currently supporting software engineers only. Additionally, it conducts seminars at colleges to connect students with opportunities in Japan.

Summit (Nepal-Japan)
Training/Workshop
LeadX in collaboration with Idea Studio Nepal creates impact through knowledge. Trainings and workshops are curated as per local context to develop entrepreneur mindset, leadership, critical and analytical thinking, and develop 21st century skills.

Then there are workshops that we create not only as an event but provide continuum for development, especially for leadership among women. Our Foundational workshop for women in leadership, facilitated by Paralympic Gold Medalist Ms. Katrina Webb and LeadX Nepal’s COO Ms. Shradha Pal, was a pivotal initiative. By encouraging collaboration and creating a supportive network for women leaders in Nepal, we intended to explore new approaches to leadership, identify barriers to female leadership, uncover personal leadership essence, and promote inclusivity. The workshop marked a significant step towards redefining women’s leadership in Nepal, and empowering women to thrive in leadership roles.

With such a diverse platform collaboration becomes crucial. Therefore, every year a collaborative program with NewDay and LeadX Nepal is hosted for women leaders. This opportunity creates a safe space for them to uncover themselves and rediscover their strengths. The participants so far have come from New Zealand, the UK, Scotland Australia and Nepal.
Continuing the leadership development LeadX Nepal offers fellowship to young students who are eager to learn & develop a career.
Finally, in the future LeadX Nepal would work on creating Continuing Profession Development (CPD) and some executive courses.

 

C. Knowledge Hub
Knowledge being the foundation that LeadX Nepal associates with, it’s evident to foster a knowledge hub in Nepal. This becomes the research center for South Asia region. The discourse created through this center will put the research fostered here on the global map, academically. Nepal is yet to be recognized for its academic contribution. Therefore, the knowledge hub will also support in action applied research for MPhil and PhD.

 

D. Global and National Leadership
Leadership is a crucial journey and not an end because its evolving, for this a leader must be introspective and be open to change for the better. However, with an erratic and hectic schedule it may not be possible. Therefore, Leadx offers such platform to rediscover, to rejuvenate, to reconnect with self through leadership journeys, collaborations on trainings, and always being a step ahead.

Leadership journeys is a subjective learning and discovering process in nature. It’s a journey of unlocking, unblocking and validating your potential physical, emotional and spiritual. They discover their personal barriers and understand the importance of processes. Beyond personal growth, this journey promotes collective impact too, where participants suppose and give back to the society.

Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit
LeadX Nepal co-hosted first ever Nepal-Japan friendship summit in 2022 in collaboration with Idea Studio Nepal and Fourth Valley Concierge Japan. The summit was instrumental in fostering trust and reshaping Nepal’s image within Japan’s investment landscape. The inaugural summit saw participation from 26 Japanese companies and over 100 organization from Nepal, marking a significant milestone in bilateral partnerships.

Building in the success, the second Nepal-Japan friendship summit 2024 was held from February 1-3, 2024. The summit aims to attract Japanese investors to Nepal’s booming sectors, such as IT, hospitality, tourism and education. During the summit, five major companies announced investment in Nepal, while local prefectures launched initiative in talent acquisition, underscoring the increasing interest in Nepal’s economic potential. To ensure continuity and concrete impact, LeadX Nepal introduced the Nepal-Japan Business and Education Forum at the summit, providing membership opportunities. This forum aims to solidify Nepal’s position as desirable investment destination and promote long term partnerships and collaboration between Japanese investors and Nepalese entities.
